I have been interested in photography for over 60 Years. My Father had a Phd in "physical chemistry", infrared spectroscopy was his specialty. In his early life, he formulated his own wet processing chemistry; that was film in those days. I was intrigued with his Kodak bellows cameras and in Jr. High School, I used his contact printer to print some of his old negatives
Seeing those images develop. . . . . I was hooked.
My cameras have mostly been Nikon: EF, F100, D200, D850 . These have all been retired and I now shoot with Nikon Z9 and Hasselblad X2D II-100C. Gone are the chemicals which opens up a whole new learning experience; PHOTOSHOP and other digital processes.
Most of my shoting lately is with the Hasselblad X2D II. This is a phenomenal camera system, fun to shoot and produces stellar images. It shoots 15 stop HDR (High Dynamic Range) images. These need to be "worked" in Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop. Only high end Apple monitors and phones will display HDR images properly. Also, the file sizes for the 100 Mpix images are 213 MB.
I have been interested in landscape photography, HDR, sunsets, and the milky way. I would like to shoot more portraits (off camera flash and natural light), but that is another skill set to learn.
Along with photography, my interests include: Ham Radio (WA6QKK), electronics, wood working and most anything technical. This website is a work in progress so browse around, enjoy the pictures and come back to see what's new.
